Moroccan haberdashery

In Morocco there's still a custom made textile industry, so there are plenty of haberdasheries and fabric shops. I feel like a child at a candy store when I enter a haberdashery, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed. The silk yarn to make passementerie and clothes adornments is something I hadn't seen in my life, at least not like this.

Moroccan Souk

Pasen y vean!

I star the "Markets" section with a mix of moroccan souks. Berber sellers are a nice view, but quite aggressive if you approach them camera in hand. There's a whole world of babouches and leather shoes, comfy but with a strong leather smell. Spices and lentils are sold in bulk everywhere, and local fashion focuses on colorful jellabas. Take a look!

Assilah, MOROCCO

WHERE: Assilah, MOROCCO

HOW: Bus from Tangier
WEATHER: Warm and Cloudy
WEARING: Casual Denim

Assilah is a fishermen town 40km away from Tangier, perfect for a day short trip. We went by bus (1€), it takes a lil over half an hour and the road runs by the sea. It's a very mediterranean village, with houses painted in blue and white, and many murals on the facades painted by local artists, It was a Spanish territory for a while, so the cuisine has kept the influence; paella, fish and fresh seafood.

During Easter I went to Morocco with my friend María. We travelled by Ferry from Algeciras (Big mistake!) and stayed in Tangier. From there we made a couple of short trips to different towns (Coming soon!)
