Potes, SPAIN

WHERE: Potes, Cantabria, SPAIN
WHEN: August 2015, 1 day
WITH: Boyfriend (+1)
HOW: Car from Santander (90mins)
WEATHER: Cloudy
WEARING: Denim

I visited Potes when I was a child, and I just remembered one thing; balconies filled with flowers. They were still there when I came back this Summer, with a few more tourists and many new houses among the old ones. The trip there is worth, this town with a river is surrounded by green mountains, perfect to walk on the narrow streets, by the river, eat a Cocido Montañés or even drink a sidra.

Patones, SPAIN

WHERE: Patones de Arriba, Madrid, SPAIN
WHEN: October 2014, 1 day
WITH: Family (+2+dog)
HOW: Car from Madrid (1hr)
WEATHER: Hot and cloudy

Patones de Arriba is a small town of Madrid, located on a hill and built in slate stone. It's one of Spain's most beautiful towns, charming and well preserved, the perfect place for a short visit if you are in Madrid.

I went on one of those warm autumn days and had lunch outdoors, but I'm sure it's a good plan any time of the year.
